We asked our amazing educators why they became teachers and what advice they’d give to first-year teachers. Here's what Mrs. Kinder had to say:
Why did you become a teacher?: "School wasn't easy for me. I struggled to read and felt so stupid. Going to a larger school, I was quiet and overlooked. I didn't get the help I needed until my mom enrolled me in a tutoring program. I became a teacher to ensure that other children don't have the same experience I had in school."
My advice to new teachers:
1. Take care of yourself too!
2. Be patient! I guarantee you have t-shirts older than them.
3. Your room doesn't have to be Pinterest perfect for kids to learn.

Why did you become a teacher?: "When I was little, if you'd have asked me what I was going to be when I grew up, I would have told you, "a mom." They don't pay you for being a mom, so I became a teacher!"
My advice to new teachers: "Be a lifelong learner. Be ready and willing to accept help and advice. Don't just join your union, get involved in it."

This year, six students passed the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) Exam in Mechanical Design—an impressive achievement after nearly a year of preparation! 💻📐

They volunteered to take on this challenging 3-hour exam and their hard work paid off. We’re so proud of their dedication and success! 👏👏

Madelyn participated in volleyball and was inducted into NHS during her time at Cardinal High School. She lists winning Districts for volleyball as her favorite memory from high school. Outside of Cardinal, Madelyn was a member of the National Technical Honors Society and the Drug Free Clubs of America. She also attended Auburn Career Center for the Patient Care Technician program.
Next up, Madelyn will be attending Kent State University to major in Nursing. Huge shout-out to Mr. Kruse for being the best teacher she's had and Mrs. Gingerich and Mrs. Hostetler for being the most amazing people in the district! 🙌🌟 #SeniorSpotlight #Classof2025

While attending Cardinal, Jayden also studied at Auburn Career Center, where she was part of the Cosmetology program. Her favorite high school memory is making new friends.

🎓 Congratulations, Starr! 🎉 Starr participated in concert, jazz, and marching band during her time at Cardinal High School. She also participated in the Fall Play and Spring Musicals. She lists the time Mr. Clutter blew up a bag in the classroom for a chemistry demonstration as her favorite high school memory. Next up, Starr will be attending Penn State University. She is currently undecided, but wants to give a shout-out to Miss Moon, Mrs. Turon, Mr. Kurse, Mr. Clutter, and Mr. Boyle for always being there to support and guide her along the way! 🙌🌟 #SeniorSpotlight #Classof2025
