The Cardinal Local Schools District was able to secure a school bus purchase grant from the State of Ohio in the amount of $45,000.00 that paid for almost half of this much-needed upgrade to our transportation department! Since August, we have secured five new school buses!
This announcement was made at the May 8 Regular Board of Education Meeting.
Earlier this month, Avarie W. won the annual coloring contest through the Geauga County Sheriff's Office. The prize was a K9 demonstration with the K9 Unit for our school. Below, is Officer Wendl, his K-9 Unit Arlo, and Avarie.

Three teachers from Jordak Elementary participated in a dyslexia simulation on Tuesday, May 7th. The event was held at Riverside Local Schools.
Through six simulations, the teachers experienced every day challenges that individuals with dyslexia are confronted with. The simulations were designed to improve understanding and encourage the use of effective teaching techniques. The workshops were led by members of the Northern Ohio Branch of IDA.
