Why did you become a teacher?
"To teach students about Technology and Engineering."

We asked our amazing educators why they became teachers and what advice they’d give to first-year teachers. Here's what Mrs. Kinder had to say:
Why did you become a teacher?: "School wasn't easy for me. I struggled to read and felt so stupid. Going to a larger school, I was quiet and overlooked. I didn't get the help I needed until my mom enrolled me in a tutoring program. I became a teacher to ensure that other children don't have the same experience I had in school."
My advice to new teachers:
1. Take care of yourself too!
2. Be patient! I guarantee you have t-shirts older than them.
3. Your room doesn't have to be Pinterest perfect for kids to learn.
Thank you, Mrs. Kinder, for inspiring our students and making a difference every day! 🍎💛 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher #HuskiePride

Why did you become a teacher?: "I love working with children of all ages! I am passionate about art education and feel that each student has their own unique artistic abilities."
My advice to new teachers: "Study hard and build up your resources, program, lessons, etc. so that you will have a wealth of ideas and knowledge to work from."
Thank you, Mrs. Eigner, for inspiring our students and making a difference every day! 🍎💛 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher #HuskiePride

We asked our amazing educators why they became teachers and what advice they’d give to first-year teachers. Here's what Mrs. Fekete had to say:
Why did you become a teacher?: "To be a teacher like the teachers I had that convinced me that I was capable of more."
My advice to new teachers: "Build those student relationships -Those connections matter! You won't be able teach them anything if they don't want to listen to you in the first place."
Thank you, Mrs. Fekete, for inspiring our students and making a difference every day! 🍎💛 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher #HuskiePride

We asked our amazing educators why they became teachers and what advice they’d give to first-year teachers. Here's what Mrs. Callahan had to say:
Why did you become a teacher?: "When I was little, if you'd have asked me what I was going to be when I grew up, I would have told you, "a mom." They don't pay you for being a mom, so I became a teacher!"
My advice to new teachers: "Be a lifelong learner. Be ready and willing to accept help and advice. Don't just join your union, get involved in it."
Thank you, Mrs. Callahan, for inspiring our students and making a difference every day! 🍎💛 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher #HuskiePride
