Let me start by stating at Cardinal Local Schools, the health and safety of our students is our top priority. The district has been made aware that a parent/guardian, who last year volunteered in the local youth recreation wrestling program, has been arrested on very serious charges of a sexual nature. The allegations are not related in any way to the youth wrestling program or any Cardinal Local Schools program. The individual is not a coach or employee of the Cardinal Local Schools and is not involved with our current recreation programs. In order to protect the integrity of the investigation, we cannot share further details at this time. However, specific questions may be referred to the Geauga County Sheriff’s office. The safety of our students is always our primary concern. If you or any of our students need support or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our building principals, our school counselors, or me. Sincerely, Jack Cunningham Superintendent

We would like to congratulate senior Alex M. on his completion of 100 miles in the Marji Gesick Race, an endurance bike race. Alex has tried this course before and was unable to finish, BUT this past weekend he not only finished it but completed a goal he had set for himself. He completed the race in 21 hours and was one of only 4 participants under 18 to finish this year. # FinishWhatYouStarted Congratulations Alex!

Mrs. Walland's 6th Grade Art Class participated in the Attendance Challenge who is sponsored with the Cleveland Browns and Columbus Crew. Her students were asked to create pieces of art that showcase their top reasons why they like coming to school or why getting to school each day is important. A possible luck winner could win tickets to the Cleveland Browns or Columbus Crew game!

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day.” – Albert Einstein" Mrs. Robinson's 6th Grade Science Class participated in a Skittles Science Lab. Where the students used Skittles (their rock), water and a pipet (their precipitation), and a Petri dish (Earth’s surface) to simulate chemical and mechanical weathering, erosion, and they had a discussion on what would happen in the sun and wind to their “rock,” concluding that deposition would take place when the water evaporated. Students were engaged and sharing their discoveries as they watched the candy coating turn into “mineral, sediment, and rock fragments” moving across “Earth’s surface”. Simple, yet effective. 🔬🧪
